TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Eventgoers were promised a "journey filled with wondrous creations and enchanting surprises at every turn." Instead, they found major disappointment at the "Willy Wonka Experience" in Glasgow, the BBC reports.
When visitors arrived, they found what was described as an "abandoned, empty warehouse."
Organizers House of Illuminati advertised the event as a place where "dreams come to life," with eventgoers saying they were sold on the promise of big chocolate fountains, sweets, and optical illusions.
Instead, families were demanding refunds and officers being called to the scene.
In a social media post, House of Illuminati wrote in part: "Today has been a very stressful and frustrating day for many and for that we are truly sorry."
A Facebook group has been organized for those affected by the event.
