- MLS games will be free on Apple TV from 2026
- The previous MLS Season Pass is going away
- MLS ticket packages will include an Apple TV sub
Fresh from shaking up its branding, Apple TV is now shaking up its subscription offerings: Major League Soccer games are now going to be included in the main Apple TV subscription, rather than being put behind a separate paywall.
Before now, MLS access required an additional MLS Season Pass, yours for $14.99 / £14.99 / AU$22.99 a month or $99 / £99 / AU$149 for the whole season (and a little less if you were already paying for Apple TV). From next year, that's going away.
"We're thrilled to bring MLS to more fans around the world next season on Apple TV," says Apple's Eddy Cue, the senior vice president of Services. "Every match, all in one place, alongside incredible Apple Originals – it's a win for fans everywhere."
The deal includes all MLS-related content, covering every regular-season match, the Leagues Cup tournament, the MLS All-Star Game, the Campeones Cup, the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and various other matches.
More sport than ever
If you happen to sign up for a full season ticket package with any MLS club, to actually go and watch the games in person, then you'll also get an Apple TV subscription as part of the bundle – so you can watch games at home too.
You may remember Apple and the MLS struck a deal back in 2022 for a cool $2.5 billion, with broadcasts starting in 2023. That deal was for 10 years, so there's plenty of viewing time left, all the way up to 2032.
Sports fans are going to have more to watch on Apple TV than ever in 2026: last month Apple signed a deal to broadcast Formula 1 races in the United States, which as with the MLS won't cost anything extra for Apple TV subscribers.
It all adds to the value of an Apple TV subscription, currently yours for $12.99 / £9.99 / AU$15.99 a month. For now, there's no cheaper ad-supported tier available like there is with other streaming services, though that may change eventually.
