TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Being an NFL head coach is not an easy job.
There's game preps, installing plays and schemes, managing the egos of the staffs and the players.
Not to mention the in-game adjustments and talking to the media, all while fans are ready to support or criticize every move you make.
For John McKay, he had to juggle all of that, while serving as the Buccaneers' first-ever head coach and general manager.
While McKay was known for his football IQ, he was also known for his quick wit and his candid humor.
And while he only won 44 of the 122 games he coached with the team from 1976 to 1984, McKay's legacy lasts way beyond his role on the field.
