SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Stephen Curry has joined Unrivaled basketball as an investor. The Golden State Warriors guard is the latest sports star to join the 3v3 basketball league as an investor, joining the likes of the NBA's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Carmelo Anthony, and tennis star Coco Gauff.
"We are absolutely thrilled to announce another champion has been added to the Unrivaled investor family! Steph Curry is unrivaled," the league posted on X, formerly Twitter, Tuesday.
"I am incredibly proud to be joining the Unrivaled family as the league continues to set a new standard for how women's professional sports should operate," said Curry in a statement. "Unrivaled is not just innovating the way we play basketball, but also how we value and invest in the athletes who drive the game forward."
Founded by current U.S. Olympians, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, Unrivaled features six teams with six players on each team. The league's 3v3 games are played on a compressed full court.
The league is also setting records in women's sports with the highest average salaries. All 36 initial players in Unrivaled receive equity ownership, according to the league's website.
Unrivaled's inaugural season began in January in Miami. Semifinals will take place Sunday before the championship game on Monday.
