CHICAGO (WGN) — Courtney Vandersloot, a former multi-time all-star and WNBA champion with the Chicago Sky, is expected to return to the franchise, according to the Chicago Sun-Times' Annie Costabile.

Costabile reports multiple Unrivaled sources have told her Vandersloot is expected to return to the franchise that took her with the No. 3 pick in the 2011 WNBA draft.

Vandersloot was selected to four WNBA All-Star teams, five All-WNBA teams — two first team selections, three second-team selections — and helped lead Chicago to the 2021 WNBA championship in 12 seasons wearing a Sky uniform. She is also the franchise's all-time leader in assists.

She left after the 2022 WNBA season and joined the New York Liberty, where she made a fifth WNBA All-Star team and won her second WNBA championship last season when the Liberty took down the Las Vegas Aces in four games, 3-1.

Moving forward, Costabile reports Vandersloot is looking for a team that values her addition. In Chicago, she would likely have a starting role, as opposed to having to come off the bench for other franchises.
