GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — There’s just something in the water down in Montrose.
Just two months after the Red Hawks' football team mauled their way to a state title appearance, both Montrose’s girls and boys basketball teams find themselves atop the southwestern league with a combined 27 wins to just three combined losses.
A year after both teams fell short of a Southwestern League title, but winning one playoff game on the boys' side and two playoff wins on the girls' side, they now aim to take that next step to compete for a title.
