NEW YORK (PIX11) -- There is no other way to cut it. The Giants' performance yesterday was putrid. They got embarrassed by the Bucs 30-7.
Tommy DeVito got mocked by Tampa quarterback Baker Mayfield. Boo's rained down at MetLife Stadium.
Effort was not there. Question the game plans on both sides of the ball. Giant players after the game called themselves soft.
What you witnessed yesterday gets head coaches fired in the National Football League. For Brian Daboll, nobody wants to hear after the game about how well you practiced during the week. I also cannot hear about how emotionally draining last week was for the Giants team after the benching and then the release of quarterback and captain Daniel Jones last week.
Yesterday was embarrassing and if you are a Giants fan, you have every right to be upset by what you witnessed. Every right to question the direction of the proud Giants organization after that garbage.
Do I think co-owner John Mara wants to make changes? I do not. I think GM Joe Schoen and the Head Coach Brian Daboll deserve more time. But it is a fluid situation.
If the Giants come out on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys and quit as they did yesterday, the calls for change will only grow louder. What stings yesterday is that we watched other teams across the NFL with similar records like Tennessee, Dallas, and Carolina, compete and play hard and the Giants were lifeless.
To add insult to injury, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley had 302 yards of total offense as Philly blew past the Rams last night 37-20. In short, Sunday was a long day for the Giants.
Until next time New York, I'm Marc Malusis
