NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The Jets are a remarkable dumpster fire.
Head coach Robert Saleh fired. GM Joe Douglas fired. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett demoted.
They are a 3 and 8 football team and will most certainly miss the playoffs for the 14th consecutive year. The Aaron Rodgers era will go down as one of the great failures in the history of New York sports.
Not sure if he is, but Owner Woody Johnson should be embarrassed. In the 25 years that he has owned the team, the Jets record is 171 and 227. They have 6 playoff victories. The Jets have now won, no less have been to a Super Bowl, since Super Bowl III in 1969.
It was Woody who said this was the most talented team he has ever had in 25 years. He has now fired the GM. It was Woody who thought that firing Robert Saleh as head coach would spark the team, they have gotten worse. It was Woody who turned this franchise over to Aaron Rodgers, not only has that not worked, but Rodgers looks like a shell of his former self.
Woody has had his hand in everything since 2000, only hiatus was when he was the ambassador to the United Kingdom. He is a meddling owner who knows nothing about football and the scary thing is, he thinks he does.
So, what is going to change moving forward? Not much, unless Woody Johnson finally gets out of the way.
Until next time New York, I'm Marc Malusis.
