EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (PIX11) -- As football season starts to creep up and fans start booking trips to see their favorite teams, New York Giants and Jets fans can rest easy knowing that MetLife Stadium ranks as one of the safest stadiums in the NFL, according to a new study.

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., is the third safest stadium in the league, according to iGamingNuts. The company conducted the study using local crime data and thousands of NFL fans.

The safest stadium is home to the New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium. The study concluded that Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, home to the Denver Broncos, is the most dangerous stadium.

In the city of Angels, home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers at SoFi Stadium, 65% of fans said they have seen an act of violence, making it the venue fans say feels the least safe. In a twist, fans said the safest stadium, Gillette Stadium, is also among the top places that feel unsafe despite what the crime data shows, according to the study.
