CHICAGO -- Amid the rain and offensive onslaught from the Atlanta Braves Monday, a free agency move that involved the Chicago White Sox bringing back a starting pitcher emerged, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.
The White Sox and free agent pitcher Mike Clevinger are in agreement on a contract, pending a physical, according to sources familiar to Murray.
It's a reunion for both sides of the equation, as Clevinger went 9-9 with a 3.77 ERA across 24 starts for the South Siders last season, and was arguably their best starting pitcher outside of Dylan Cease, who was traded to the San Diego Padres in mid-March.
The White Sox next game is set for Tuesday at home against the Braves, with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. CST. Garrett Crochet is set to take the hill for Chicago, while former-White Sox Reynaldo Lopez is slated to start for Atlanta.
