Bulldog Insider: Al'zillion Hamilton

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE) – Fresno State junior defensive back Al'zillion Hamilton is stepping into a bigger role this upcoming season in the Bulldogs' secondary. Hamilton saw action in every game last season and had 31 tackles with two interceptions and eight pass breakups.

"I finally get to lead my group. I've been trying to step up and be a leader to the whole defense. Trying to show them I can be that guy on the field and take over that role" said Hamilton.

Hamilton will be working alongside veteran DB Cam Lockridge who is entering his final year of eligibility. With the departure of Carlton Johnson due to graduation, Hamilton has the opportunity to take on a more pivotal role.

The junior shared that both Carlton Johnson and Cam Lockridge spoke with him on stepping up and providing advice on taking over the secondary.

"The advice he (Carlton) gave me was this is your time. You need to take over and lead that group. Even Cam, with him being here he's telling me I need to step up and be that other guy alongside him. I've been taking it all in from those two" said Hamilton.
