SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego Wave FC is set to take on Kansas City Current Saturday at Snapdragon Stadium -- the home opener for the 2024 season.
The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. but the fun is expected to begin a lot earlier. Fan Fest will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. with a wave of festivities for soccer club fans.
Here's an inside look at what can be expected during Fan Fest:
- Live music from DJ HEABNASTY
- Performance from Fuego Dance Crew from World of Dance
- Kids soccer activations, including inflatable soccer, panna court and more in the Game Zone
- Face painting, sign creation and more in the club’s Dr. Seuss Spirit Zone
- Ultra Club beer garden, presented by Michelob ULTRA (must be 21+ to enter)
- San Diego Mojo, the newest professional team in San Diego
- EA Sports Gaming Truck with Megan Reyes
On top of the entertainment and activities, food trucks from across San Diego County will have bites and drinks available for purchase.
As a fun perk for early fans, the first 15,000 ticketholders will receive a Wave FC pennant that commemorates the club winning the 2023 NWSL Shield.
The Wave FC’s Team Store will also open early at 3 p.m., where the brand new kits for 2024 will be on sale.
Tickets for the home opener match start at just $10.
Last Friday, the Wave FC secured the Challenge Cup victory over NJ/NY Gotham with an 88th game winner from Alex Morgan. On Saturday, fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with the Challenge Cup trophy. It will be located on the north turf pad of the stadium.
