(KRON) – Maddie Moreau is the latest team member for the Bay Football Club, the team announced on Friday. The new National Women’s Soccer League franchise has signed the defender for the 2024 season with an option to extend for the 2025 campaign.
Moreau went undrafted in the 2024 NWSL Draft but joined Bay FC for preseason training camp. Moreau began her collegiate career at Louisiana State University, where is started in 46 matches. She earned second-team All-SEC and All-Freshman team recognition in 2019.
Moreau transferred in her junior year, playing two seasons as a West Virginia Mountaineer.
At West Virginia, Moreau started and played in 41 matches, recording two goals and three assists. The Mountaineers won the Big 12 Championship and earned an NCAA Tournament berth in 2022.
