OCEANSIDE (KUSI) - Raise the Jolly Roger! The Oceanside Pirates win their first ever CIF State Title in Boys Soccer with a 3-0 victory over Lakewood.

After a scoreless first half, the Pirates broke the deadlock on a corner kick by Junior Forward Lincoln Newcomer, who swung a perfect ball into the box where one of Oceanside's Captains, Junior Fullback Kellen Love, was there to clean up the loose ball and force it over the line for the goal.

Oceanside would score on another corner kick by Newcomer, this time Lincoln's perfect pass would find the head of Junior Defender Christian Sanchez for the goal to make it 2-0.

Just before the full-time whistle, Oceanside would be awarded a penalty kick, and Junior Midfielder Braulio Ibarra would step up to bury the shot into the bottom right corner of the net to seal the State Title for Oceanside.

Head Coach Frank Zimmerman, who has been with the program for the past 29 years, was on "Cloud 9" after the victory, "You know you get to this part in your career, and you're like, some things are never going to happen...well this team just rewrote a bunch of record books for us."
