GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — On a big night in the High School Girls Basketball State Playoffs, all three Grand Valley teams in the dance - Fruita, Palisade, and Central - had their seasons end tonight.
#10 Fruita (19-4) fell 38-32 to #23 Denver East (16-8) at home in 6A.
#15 Palisade (17-7) fell 60-51 to #18 Northridge (15-9) at home in 5A.
#19 Central (12-12) fell 69-45 to #14 Mountain View (16-8) on the road in 5A.
But boy it was a different story for the two teams down south - Delta and Montrose.
#7 Montrose (18-6) dominated #26 Pueblo County (17-7) 54-17 in 5A.
#10 Delta (19-4) throttled #23 Middle Park (12-10) 72-16 in 4A.
The Delta Panthers have now remarkably won 19 straight after starting 0-4.
On Friday, #7 Montrose will host #10 Pueblo West, and #10 Delta will head to Greely to take on #7 University in round 2.
