This Day in Bulldog History: December 3rd

BOISE, Idaho (KSEE) - On December 3rd, 2022, Boise State hosted Fresno State in the annual Mountain West championship game. After starting the year with a record of 1-4, Fresno State was on a seven-game winning streak which earned the Bulldogs a spot in the conference championship game.

And they won, 28-16 over the Broncos.

There was no scoring in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Nikko Remigio ran back a punt 70 yards for a touchdown. It was his second punt return for a touchdown of the season.

Quarterback Jake Haener was the game's offensive MVP, passing for 184 yards and one touchdown.

"This is the Golden Boy of the conference, one of the premier teams in the conference," said Haener. "And to come up here against one of our biggest rivals, if not our biggest rival in the conference, yeah it definitely means more."

Added Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford, "While we were disappointed in the beginning, we weren't discouraged. It's hard when you go into fourth quarters of games and you work so hard and you don't come out with a reward to keep coming back the next day and to still have the same attitude and the same belief.

"But these kids did."
