Fruita native Josie DeHart shines in Wheelchair Basketball

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — It's the wheelchair basketball Para Pan American games in Santiago, Chile and team USA has been off to a fiery start.

The US Women's team has won all three of their group play games by an average of 71 points. Yeah, It doesn't get more dominant than that.

And helping the team make a run at a world championship is former Fruita Monument Wildcat and Fruita native Josie DeHart. She put down 4 points in a 68-point win over Peru Monday and followed that up with a 6-point performance in a 61-point win over Argentina.

"I think we're doing awesome. We're playing team basketball and working
for each other and we're having so much fun," DeHart said. "I think we
have to keep communicating with each other really well. I think we're
going to win it all."

Next up for the U.S., they'll be taking on Brazil in the semifinals.
