Central downs Junction in turnover fest

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — In a rivalry game - neither team wants to give an inch.

But in this rivalry game there was plenty of giving - albeit perhaps more than giving was the taking. In the first 20 minutes of this big-time cross-city showdown between Grand Junction and Central, we saw four fumbles and an interception.

But finally - late in the first half - the Tigers found their way into the end zone.

But in half two it was a completely different ball game. Whatever Warriors head coach Ryan Whittington told the team at half it certainly worked. Because after getting shut out in half one, Central scored thrice in half two, taking down the Tigers 21 to 13.

With the loss the Tigers now fall to 0 and 3 - it's tough pill to swallow for Grand Junction because they fought so hard in this one. With the win, Central goes over .500 at 2-1.

Next up the Warriors will head to down to Durango to face the Demons.
and Junction will host Mountain Range at Stocker Stadium next Friday.
