Early voting trends in Florida ahead of Election Day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — The countdown continues with four days left until Election Day on Nov. 5, and there are only a few more days left to vote early.

Nearly half of all Floridians have voted early, and some of those voters are saying early voting has been a "go-to" choice for many across the state in the 2024 General Election.

"It's so exciting to see everybody participating in the process," Todd Studley said.

Studley casted his ballot early, along with millions of other voters statewide.

"For me, it's just so important because so many people have sacrificed so much to give us the right to vote, and I just wanted to come out a couple days early, make sure I exercise my civic duty and get my vote in," he said.

That message is spread not only across Florida but right at home in Tampa Bay. Supervisor of Elections in Manatee County, James Satcher shared, the county has already seen 52% of voters casting their ballots early, with a chance of hitting 60% before Election Day.

"This is quite possibly the momentous election of our lifetime, and I'm really glad that people are hearing that message and participating," Stacher said.

Up north in Citrus County, Supervisor of Elections Maureen "Mo" Barid added that there's a much higher number of "first-time voters" then in previous years.

"To me, Election Day is your last opportunity to vote, and sometimes things come up, and you don't get an opportunity, and we want everyone to have the opportunity to vote in this election," Barid said.

Many local supervisors of elections are impressed with the turnout of early voters in the 2024 election, but reminded voters, whether you are voting early or on election day, to take the time to fill out your sample ballot to help have a plan going into that voting booth.
