TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Republicans will head to the polls on Tuesday to cast their ballots for the Presidential Preference Primary election, despite former President Donald Trump clinching enough delegates to become the presumptive GOP nominee last week.
There is no Presidential Preference Primary for the Democrats. However, President Joe Biden has also secured enough delegates to become the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Voters in Florida were able to vote early from March 9 through March 16, either by mail or in-person early voting. County supervisors of elections are also allowed to allow additional days of early voting outside of that mandatory period.
Some municipalities may also have local races on the ballot, which would be open to non-Republican voters.
So, just how good was the turnout? Some counties in the News Channel 8 viewing area had early turnout rates in the single digits, while others were 20% or higher, according to unofficial tallies from each county's supervisor of elections.

- Hardee: 9.60%
- Hernando: 15.10%
- Highlands: 7.97%
- Hillsborough: 17.23%
- Manatee: 15.80%
- Pasco: 10.71%
- Pinellas: 23.09%
- Polk: 13.25%
- Sarasota: 17.56%
Voters could either vote by mail or show up to a polling location and vote early, in person.

Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Those in line to vote by 7 p.m. will still be allowed to vote.
